Since its creation in 2008 in Beniparrell (Valencia), it has established itself as a benchmark in the European food sector, focusing on applied research, food safety, and the development of new products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A multidisciplinary and diverse team<\/h2>\n

The center currently has a multidisciplinary team<\/a> of around 40 professionals<\/strong> specializing in nutrition, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering, and food technology. One of its key differentiating values is its commitment to diversity: 70% of the workforce are women<\/strong>, who also hold 87% of the management positions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Infrastructure dedicated to quality<\/h2>\n

Covering more than 1,300 m\u00b2<\/strong>, the center features seven laboratories accredited under the ISO 17025<\/a> standard, specializing in sensory, physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses. These are complemented by three new laboratories, a pilot plant, and an experience room<\/strong> \u2014 the result of a half-million-euro investment.<\/p>\n

This state-of-the-art infrastructure ensures maximum reliability in analyses and positions the center as a benchmark in food safety<\/strong>, thanks to its ability to apply advanced techniques for detecting compounds responsible for undesirable flavors in nuts, such as amygdalin and alkylphenols.<\/p>\n

Resilience in the face of challenges<\/h2>\n

In 2024, the DANA storm affected part of its facilities, but Importaco quickly adapted its processes to ensure the continuity of key projects in formulation, preservation, and nutritional profile improvement<\/strong> \u2014 demonstrating resilience and a strong commitment to innovation.<\/p>\n

Open innovation and collaboration<\/h2>\n

The center also serves as a hub for open innovation<\/strong>, collaborating with universities, technology centers, startups, and health science researchers. This approach strengthens Importaco\u2019s ability to anticipate consumer trends<\/strong> and develop solutions that promote healthier, safer, and more sustainable food.<\/p>\n
