Net profit stood at €30.2 million, representing a 16% growth over the previous year.
In a year marked by the effects of DANA, these figures reflect the strength of Importaco’s strategy. In this context, the ability to adapt to a highly dynamic environment has been key to consolidating its positive trajectory and a business model focused on health, sustainability, and operational excellence.
“2024 has been a key year for us. Thanks to the efforts of our teams, we overcame challenges such as the floods in l’Horta Sud, while achieving new milestones that strengthen our competitiveness and social commitment,” said Toño Pons, President of Importaco.
A solid performance in its two main business lines
In the nuts division, Importaco reached a turnover of €777.5 million and marketed more than 120,000 tonnes, consolidating its position as one of the leading operators in the sector in Europe.
Meanwhile, the water division reported €121 million in revenue, with a volume exceeding 1 billion litres, further reinforcing its leadership in the Spanish market.
Industrial investment for the future
In 2024, Importaco allocated €20.9 million to investments focused on improving operational efficiency, increasing industrial capacity, and advancing sustainability.
Some of these investments included the enhancement of production processes at the sunflower seed plant in Sagunto (Valencia), the increase in production capacity at the snack plant in Carlet (Valencia), and the implementation of new technologies at the AguaDoy bottling plant in Calera y Chozas (Toledo).
A firm commitment to sustainable development
The year was also marked by environmental progress. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated Importaco’s climate targets, which include reducing absolute emissions by 30% by 2030.
The company obtained ISO 50001 certification for its energy management system across all its sites in Spain. Additionally, Importaco continues to promote sustainable agricultural practices. The area of land included in this programme increased by 26%, reaching 34,500 hectares, and enabled the establishment of agreements with 676 farmers to foster regenerative agriculture and biodiversity protection.
Innovation focused on health and the consumer
In 2024, innovation remained one of the main drivers of Importaco’s competitiveness. The company developed 210 new products, clearly focused on improving nutritional profiles and offering solutions aligned with evolving consumer habits.
Importaco’s innovation strategy is based on three pillars: health, sustainability and consumer experience. Standout innovations include chocolate-covered products, nut blends, and functional foods designed to support gut health and enhance cognitive function. This capacity for innovation and expertise has been key to strengthening relationships with strategic customers and exploring new market opportunities.
